The first page is going to skip all the preamble of this is a Playstation/Xbox, this is how you turn it on etc. It will be a able of contents detailing what I want on display which will start with the story. This will be just a brief overview of what Megacity One is. I will not go into detail about Dredd. It will say that this is the city, why the judges are here and that YOU are now training to become one of these judges.
Then it will dive into the character creation for the game, as this is the first thing the player wil be seeing. This page will detail how the charcter creation system will work with a few mock ups of what the in game screen will look like.
The players equipment will be next, detailing what sort of things the judge will have at his disposal. This will mention the main things the judge uses, such as the daystick, lawgiver and lawmaster bike. It will give an outline of each of these features and how they will be used within the game. It will briefly mention the voice activation and refer the player to one of the other pages within the booklet.
Next it will go into the specialisation tree. As this is one of the main aspects and I would like it to be a surprise for the person reading it, this will go over the initial Street Judges tree. It will say that there is more that will be unlocked in time, but give no imediate details apart from the fact that these will be Psi-Judge, Tek-Judge and an expanded Street Judge.
Then will come mission progression. It will tell the player how missions will appear and how the player will find out about missions in the game. This will also mention the brief, which is where past messages have been displayed. One of the things that is usually lacking in these sorts of games is a "what mission am i doing now" page. This will be shown here, along with a few details of what the player must accomplish.
Then it will go into the "how to play" section. This will show enemies and some screens to show a general basis of the moves and such to get the player through.
Finally comes the section detailing the voice activation. This will give a run down of how the player will be able to use a headset (provided with the game) to issue commands to change the ammunition in his lawgiver and, hopefully, give orders to the lawmaster and perps within the game.
This is how it is looking the progression of the pre production will be at the moment and hopefully I will be able to sort it out as a PDF, sp it can be scrolled through in the way it is meant to be viewed if it were an actual manual. Going to start condensing things down next week and begin with the structure of it so I can get everything compiled, as I feel at the moment I am working more on the actual production document than on any pre production. Need to reign in that enthusiasm somewhat.
